Athena is a forty pound, nine-year-old, Corgi and Carolina Dog mix. She is a big dog in a small package; and she still has lots of playful energy but also enjoys chilling by your side or at your feet. Athena has been shuffled around from different homes, so is a bit anxious about new people and situations. Athena does come around with gentleness, kindness, and a few treats, and once she falls in love with her human, she will reward your patience with endless devotion. Athena would love to be your best friend and adventure companion. She’s not crazy about sharing your attention but has learned to tolerate her foster’s dog and cat companions. Athena will do best in a calm, environment without too much anxiety-producing unpredictability. She is a very emotional and empathetic dog. When she feels safe and loved, she exudes an irresistible joyfulness! Athena is fully vetted.

Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
