Zora is a five-year-old, sixty-pound, American Staffordshire Terrier. She is good with dogs, cats, and kids. A snuggling extremely loving dog who is exceptionally calm, Zora was given up due to her person's mental illness. This is a lovely, very domestic and well-mannered dog who has been through a hard time.  Her foster writes: "There is not a human in this world Zora doesn’t want to be friends with and she’s as gentle as she is loving. Zora has been in a home where she was given run of the house and never chewed furniture, destroyed toys or got into things that weren’t hers. She is very quiet  and lets out a little “woof” when she wants you to play.  Her favorite activities are snuggling up next to people and going on short walks.  She also likes riding in the car and any social activity where she can give people kisses. Zora is a master of the pitiful face and will melt your heart when she’s not making you laugh. It’s almost a miracle how sweet and loving she is despite everything she’s been through. Zora suffered a spinal injury when she was younger and she has slightly limited function in her back legs, as well as some incontinence issues that are managed on a regular potty walk schedule. She can have accidents so whoever adopts her needs to be aware of this. Access to a doggie door and a fenced yard would be ideal. She is fully vetted, healthy and ready to love whoever gives her a kind home. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
