A stunning almond-eyed, brindle plott hound, healthy and very docile, Winter was rescued from the street, is now vetted and is in foster home so we know a lot about her. Despite her size (30 pounds) Winter is more of a lap dog and loves to cozy up with you. She is extremely sweet, loves soft blankets, food and treats which would be an ideal way to train her. This beautiful plott would do best in a calm, soft spoken home, no small kids who can leave a door open since, despite her apparently laziness, she does eye the front door and could bolt (typical hound nose). Her foster writes, "Winter likes to be pet in a calm and soft manner. Loud noises outside are suspected will frighten her but inside she does not seem bothered from normal household talking or chores. She is quiet and has not barked at all. Someone who works from home would be ideal since she craves human company." Winter walks well on a leash beside you, romps in the yard so we suggest a fenced yard, and gives you her paw, signaling she wants a belly rub. She likes both men and women but seems more at ease with women. No small kids or rambunctious ones since fast movements startle her. She does not know how to play with toys and does not show interest yet. Mostly she wants to be with you lounging , sunning outside or taking walks. Winter's foster says, "I can't emphasize enough how very docile she is. She is so calm she does not rile up our hyper dog at all. She has a large crate and goes between it and an air mattress with a quilt she likes." A lovely gentle companion!
