Winston is a six-year-old, twenty-two-pound, Dachshund and poodle mix. He is good with other dogs, not good with kids, and we don't know about cats. Winston has a sad story we hope you can help to turn around. He was adopted by a wonderful family, but the man became ill and it's a stressful time for the family. Winston is very protective of his ill adopter. This well-mannered and smart dog is affectionate, enjoys walks and car rides and playing with dog buddies. A fenced yard would be ideal. Winston gets deeply attached. His person writes: Winston is sweet, loving and loves attention (belly rubs). He needs comforting and reassurance that he is a good dog. Winston is wary of strangers and his actions are unpredictable. Since He can be aggressive with strangers it is best to slowly introduce him to company or remove him from the room until everyone settles and is comfortable. Winston does well at the vet, at doggy day care, and at pet boarding. Winston loves playing with his toys. He will give you a paw, lay down and roll over with a command & treat. He loves car rides and going anywhere with his family. No kids. Best for a calm and routine household, who wants a dog buddy or a buddy for their current dog. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org.
