Vienna is a nine-year-old, Labrador Retriever and Basset Hound mix, weighing we think approximately forty-five pounds. She is good with kids, not good with other dogs, and we don't know about cats. Vienna's owner suddenly passed away and neighbors are reaching out to us. An incredibly sweet senior lab mix, Vienna is a gentle, low-key gal who only wants to be close to you. She is vetted, healthy (may need some arthritis pills) well-mannered and relaxed in the house. Vienna is afraid of dogs though and needs to be your one and only because of this fear. She needs to be leashed since she will bark at other dogs on walks. A fenced yard where she can sun herself and lay around would be best. Her idea of a perfect day is to lay on her back and get stomach rubs. Neighbors cannot keep her so she is living in a crate and if she goes to the shelter she will be put down. Please complete an application if you can foster and help us save this dog. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
