Scooter is a three-month-old, thirteen pound, Chihuahua and Jack Russell Terrier mix. What can be said about an adorable puppy except that is he is cute, healthy and cuddly. We rescued Scooter from being sold at random. He is now in foster, he is good with dogs, good with mature kids ten ad over who can respect a delicate small puppy. We do not know his mix for certain, he will be small even when fully grown. Scooter is very small and probably feels vulnerable. He is nervous when picked up and around large dogs. His foster writes: "Scooter is a very happy go lucky puppy, he's still teething. He can be skittish and is afraid of falling when you pick him up, so you have to hold him against you. I stay out in the yard with him at all times since he is so small and young. We will fully vet him as per contract. Please consider your forward-looking plans prior to applying. This dog is a fifteen-year commitment. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
