I've found my furever family!

We're happy to tell you that Opie has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Opie is a twelve-week-old, six pound, Patterdale Terrier mix we believe. Opie is great with other dogs, good with mature kids ten and over. A volunteer heard a conversation between the shelter and the person relinquishing Opie to the shelter over the counter. The volunteer understood the shelter is full and owner surrendered dogs are the first to be euthanized for space. So, the volunteer intercepted Opie and called us and this is how Opie came to us and was saved from becoming a shelter statistic. Opie loves to play with other dogs and was relinquished with his own blanket and toy. Opie is a sweet boy and likes to snuggle and is equally as playful. Opie's foster writes: Opie is a clever little goose! He climbed out of his puppy playpen on day two. Opie is learning commands and has made huge progress with walking on a leash. Opie chases our Doberman around! Opie sleeps in a crate but needs to have you in his view. Opie is afraid of loud noises and loud barking. He's a sensitive puppy still!  Opie's foster is working with him on house training and basic training. Opie could live ten to thirteen years. Please consider your future plans prior to applying for a lifetime commitment.  Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We prefer a fenced yard, but this is not required for all of our dogs. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org.
