Muffin is a two-year-old, twenty-one-pound, Shih Tzu and Poodle mix, selective about the dogs he likes but with a slow introduction and a submissive dog he should be fine, although he would much prefer to be your one and only. This boy can be snappy if he feels threatened so no kids. He needs a mature calm home where he can feel safe. An active, healthy, Heartworm negative dog, Muffin is housetrained and doesn't need to be kept in a crate when you are not home. He was found wandering in good physical shape, so he likely was not out on his own for long; he was never claimed. An active walker a home with a fenced yard would be ideal, since he loves to be outside. His foster writes: Muffin is learning to trust new environments and new people during his transition into our home but is mostly very loving and playful!! He loves belly rubs! If he feels threatened, he can nip, this is easily resolved as he learns boundaries. He absolutely loves to be outside and go on walks! Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
