I've found my furever family!

We're happy to tell you that Missy has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Missy is a thirteen-year-old, ninety-pound, Labrador Retriever. Missy is good with other dogs, good with mature kids ten and over, and she has not been tested with cats. Missy was a loyal companion for thirteen years when her person died. A family member brought Missy to the shelter. Missy is a gentle homebody who would be ideal for a retired person who will show her love and affection.  She more than reciprocates! Her foster writes: "Missy is a BIG lovebug. She gives hugs by head butting, follows you like Velcro and loves to carry around a toy. Enjoys walks and has great leash manners. Hasn’t met any dogs she doesn’t get along with. Her favorite things are snacks, sun puddles, napping on the deck, hugs and stuffed animals. She doesn’t have any bad habits at all! I frequently take her out to pubs and arts events, and she always makes friends and does great. Missy's hips are a little weak, so she needs help getting into a car and she is a little hard of hearing. Otherwise, I'd say she is perfect. " Visitor to Missy's foster home sent us this comment:” Having spent some time with her this weekend I can assure you this girl is a dream doggie. So sweet and easy going and the perfect companion for someone with a laid-back lifestyle.” Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply to completed applications only, not to calls, not to emails, not to instant or private Facebook messages. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We prefer a fenced yard, but this is not required for all our dogs. We transport by land or air whenever possible.
