Merlin came into rescue from a horrific hoarding situation. He was severely malnourished, painfully matted, and suffering from untreated skin infections. Despite every effort to save his vision, the damage to his eyes was beyond repair, and both eyes had to be removed.
Because of the extreme neglect and trauma Merlin endured, we made the decision to keep him in our Hospice and Haven program, where his needs can be closely monitored and his life can remain stable and predictable. Merlin is safe in a loving foster home where his foster family provides the patience, consistency, and affection he never had before. For the first time in his life, Merlin is experiencing what it means to be protected and truly loved.
Merlin is a 13 year old, 8 pound Miniature Poodle who has lived a very rough life, but his days now are filled with comfort and care. In rescue, he has also received much needed dental work to improve his overall health and quality of life.
