Max Pax is an eighteen pound, four-year-old, Border Terrier mix. He is good with other dogs, good with kids, and we don't know about cats. Easy going Max Pax was left tied out in front of the shelter and they reached out to us since they are full. This is an absolutely darling little dog, great with other dogs and would be fine with mature kids ten and older. He is low to medium energy, good on a leash, house trained, crate trained but is fine left out of the crate if you are not home. This cute fella is non-reactive passing dogs on walks. He is so low-key and quiet he would be fine for apartment living. Max Pax’s foster writes: "Max loves to please and will follow you around. He is very food motivated and loves treats, knows basic commands and is very well-mannered. He rarely barks and he loves to relax in his cozy crate where he feels safe. He tends to be a very deep sleeper and will sometimes get startled when you go to wake him up so no small kids. He also will bolt if scared or nervous. Things Max's loves: car rides, walks, mealtime, going to the pet store, meeting new people, naps, hanging with dog friends, treats, getting brushed, belly rubs. Max's dislikes: hard treats and when people ignore him (he wants to be friends with everyone!). Max is great around other dogs, but he would prefer a play mate that is on the calmer side as he is a pretty laid-back guy, a go with flow kind of guy. His only requirement is your love and food, and maybe a few treats!" A healthy smart boy ready for a great home. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
