Mason is a five-year-old, thirty-seven-pound, German Shepherd and Beagle mix. He is good with dogs and mature kids ten and over, and cats. This sweet and very gentle dog is the perfect family dog. He is easy going, sort of lazy, well-mannered in the house, and about 95% potty trained. He loves Xylitol free peanut butter treats, inhales every meal. He also loves ear and chin rubs. Mason does not like quick moves, he gets scared and will pull back and shy away so no small kids. He is great with other dogs, and he doesn't mind cats, just thinks they are interesting. This dog will follow you around the house and wants you always in his sight. He only barks when he does not see you, so a home with someone around most of the day would be ideal. Mason prefers his indoor playpen to a crate but is not destructive in the house so you can leave the crate door open. He is smart and learning sit and down; he doesn’t really leave your side enough to learn Come yet! This little guy travels well in the car, just lays down in the backseat and enjoy the current of air from an open window. A wonderful companion for a homebody or family! Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
