If you’re looking for your One & Only dog, Chevy could be your ideal match. Utterly adorable, this Two-year-old Schnauzer and Norwich Terrier mix is a lot of love and fun energy in a small, twelve-pound package. This smart, affectionate and eager-to-please little guy was rescued from an abusive owner who called him “it” and then told us he wants “it” gone because he was leaving on vacation. Chevy wants affection but he anticipates being hit, so he will need a very patient adopter. Chevy is also a major escape artist (he was likely trying to flee his abusive home) so he must have a secured and fenced yard. Chevy’s forever family should not have other dogs and if there are children, they will need to be mature children ten years or older. But we prefer a steady adult home where he can feel safe and learn how to trust. Chevy is house-trained, crate-trained, neutered and fully vetted. Above all, Chevy is an adorable and sweet little guy who loves everyone he meets. Chevy’s foster family sent this update: Chevy's ideal home will enjoy an active dog with people who spend lots of time with him, playing and even teaching him tricks. You see, this is a dog that needs a job! Fetch! Chase that ball! Sit. Stay. Rollover. Chevy will do it all and want more. He’s such a smart, eager-to-please dog and that makes him very trainable and very motivated! Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply to completed applications only, not to calls, not to emails, not to instant or private Facebook messages. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We prefer a fenced yard, but this is not required for all our dogs. We transport by land or air whenever possible.
