Champ 3 year old , 15 pounds, norwich x norfolk terrier.
Having been rescued from neglect, Champ would not even come out of his crate for weeks. Now he socializes with his foster's dogs, shares and has become more trusting of people. Still, he does not yet like to be picked up and will freeze in fear. So Champ will need an adopter experienced with trauma dogs who can give Champ time to heal and feel safe. A healthy housetrained boy, he is scared of dogs that are not low key so if you have a resident buddy for Champ he/she needs to be gentle and calm. When he passes other dogs on the street he ducks his head and moves away. His foster writes, "Champ loves it outside, but you must watch him, he will dig out and escape. He cannot be left unattended outside. He needs a patient, quiet home, no kids. Everyday there is improvement in his level of trust. He would probably regress some in a new environment, but he will begin to trust again over time."
