Butter is an eighteen-week, twenty-two-pound, American Bulldog mix. Butter is a playful and adorable puppy, he's a Velcro dog who likes to be close to his person, is too interested in cats so we suggest a cat free home. He would be fine with mature kids ten and over, since he can be puppy nippy at this stage; training is advised, and we can recommend a trainer in your area. Butter likes to chase his nubbin tail, is crate trained, and not fully house trained but will respond if kept to a schedule. Butter loves picking up sticks and rocks on walks. When cars or people walk by, he will sit. He likes new smells and will search for treats/kibble in your pocket. Running around makes him happy, along with tug toys, Kongs with treats and or xylitol free peanut butter. Butter loves his chest scratched and that gets his nub of a tail going! He enjoys his ear rubs too. He is scared of the sound of big trucks, large vans, and the sound of air conditioning units turning on and off. Butter requires a fenced yard and dog buddy to run around with him to his heart’s content would be a bonus. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls, no emails. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed assessments are based on visual appearances.
