With her soulful brown eyes and sweet face, you might think Lil Anne is a large beagle. But she is a gorgeous Treeing Walker Coonhound, one of America’s most cherished hounds. In fact, her breed is so popular, the AKC calls it The People’s Choice. True to her breed, Ann has a need for speed! So if you love outdoor adventures or a rousing game of fetch with the whole family, Lil Anne will be with you all the way. For her, life will be perfect when she’s curled up beside you.
But Lil Anne’s young life was not even close to perfect. When she was just a puppy, her world was turned into a prison. Abandoned by her owner and saved by an elderly woman, Lil Ann was kept in a crate for 6 months until we were called to the rescue.
To make up for her lonely beginning, Ben Berensfield, one of the most respected dog trainers in the Southeast has given Lil Ann the attention and training she missed. Today Ben reports, “Lil Ann is super sweet, very smart and she loves people. She wants to learn so it’s been very rewarding to watch her respond to her training. She’ll thrive with a strong adopter who is experienced with hounds or other smart, high-energy dogs and who can hold her accountable for good behavior.”
Now, Lil Ann is ready for her forever home! With a healthy dose of daily exercise and mental stimulation, she’ll stay happy and out of mischief. She’ll need a securely fenced yard so she can explore with her nose. This sweet, loving dog is now ready to flourish with a family who will love her big-smile, gigantic heart, and goofy hound nature.
